正确答案
Can a Test Tell the Whole Story? In the old days, testing was regarded as an important way of electing government officials. Now, testing is still the main way to evaluate students’ ability. However, can a test tell the whole story? In my mind, the answer is absolutely no!
Firstly, a test can only assess a student’s learning states at a particular period of time, but not their all-round ability. Nowadays, the education is mostly test-oriented, which seriously hampers the all-round development of the young. Secondly, sometimes the test result is not objective at all. Many students got their excellent scores actually by cheating. What’s more, the content of the test may not necessarily cover all the points taught in the class.
In sum, a test does play a role in evaluating a student’s leaning states. But a simple test cannot explain the whole story. Now the education for all-around development is what we badly need in China.
