I like to talk about David Letterman, an American television host and comedian. My friends and I have been watching him since a foreign TV channel was set up in Guangzhou around 1990’s. He hosts the late night television talk show, Late Show with David Letterman broadcasted on CBS. Since the 1982 debut on NBC Letterman has been a fixture on late night television. Our favourite is Late Night with David Letterman. The show is quirky and funny, for example, the Stupid Pet Tricks, demonstrations of unorthodox clothing, dropping various objects off the roof of a five-story building, etc. He’s wit and humorous, I have to say. At that time, it was very popular to watch Foreign TV shows, especially this kind of talk show. As English majors we found it interesting and perfect materials to practice our listening and oral English.
